Vimeo has reportedly laid off a significant number of employees worldwide, months after being acquired by Italian software firm Bending Spoons for US$1.4 billion.

According to sources including former Vimeo staff, the layoffs affected a large portion of the company, with some reports indicating nearly all employees, including the entire video team, were impacted.

This marks Vimeo’s second round of layoffs within six months, following a 10% reduction in September.

The layoffs raise questions about potential effects on content hosted on the platform.
