Vietnam’s Green SM names new CEO as expansion continues

Green SM, a Vietnam-based ride-hailing and transport company founded by Pham Nhat Vuong, changed general director on June 16.

Nguyen Van Thanh resigned for personal reasons. Nguyen Quoc Tuan replaced him, according to a filing on the National Business Registration Portal.

Thanh had held the role since March 2023, when Green SM was established. He joined the Vingroup ecosystem in 2019 and previously served as deputy general director of VinBus and VinFast.

Green SM now offers taxi, delivery, and rental services in 34 Vietnamese provinces and cities. The company has also expanded into Laos, Indonesia, the Philippines, and India.

B&Company said Green SM held a 40% share of Vietnam’s ride-hailing market by Q2 2025, ahead of Grab’s 36%.

Green SM was reportedly exploring a Hong Kong listing at up to US$3 billion.
