US VC firm launches $50m fund for Indian tech startups
US-based venture capital firm SamVed has launched a US$50 million fund to invest in early-stage technology startups in India.
The fund will focus on sectors including AI, fintech, agritech, healthcare, ecommerce, upskilling, and consumer brands.
Led by Amit Srivastava, formerly of Bridgewater Associates, the team includes Shanti Mohan of LetsVenture, ex-Info Edge executive Vivek Khare, and former Google leader Gagan Saksena.
Investments sizes will range from US$80,000 to US$1 million across pre-seed and pre-series A rounds.
In addition to funding, SamVed will provide operational support to its portfolio companies, offering an in-house CTO, mentorship, and global networks.
The fund has made investments in three startups, though specific names were not disclosed.
