🧠 Food for thought

1️⃣ Massive cybersecurity market growth justifies substantial funding rounds

SAFE’s $70 million raise reflects the significant economic opportunity in cybersecurity, driven by escalating threat costs and defensive spending.

Cybercrime is projected to cost the world $12.2 trillion annually by 2031, while global cybersecurity spending is expected to exceed $1.75 trillion from 2021 to 20251.

The AI cybersecurity market specifically is experiencing rapid growth, expanding from $15 billion in 2021 to an expected $135 billion by 20302.

This market expansion creates room for companies like SAFE to pursue ambitious goals like “CyberAGI” while attracting significant venture capital investment.

With the U.S. alone projected to lose over $639 billion to cyber attacks by 2025, enterprises are increasingly willing to invest heavily in advanced AI-driven security solutions that promise more effective threat detection and response2.

2️⃣ AI automation addresses cybersecurity’s persistent workforce shortage

SAFE’s focus on “agentic AI” and autonomous threat management directly tackles one of cybersecurity’s biggest operational challenges: the severe shortage of skilled professionals.

The industry faces 3.5 million unfilled cybersecurity positions expected by 2025, creating significant pressure on organizations to find technology solutions that can operate with minimal human oversight1.
