US spend management startup Ramp eyes $40b valuation

Ramp, a New York-based corporate spend management startup, is in talks to raise US$750 million at a pre-money valuation above US$40 billion.

The company last raised US$300 million in November 2025 at a US$32 billion post-money valuation in a round led by Lightspeed.

Earlier in 2025, Ramp announced a US$500 million series E-2 at a US$22.5 billion valuation led by Iconiq and a US$200 million series E at a US$16 billion valuation led by Founders Fund,

CEO Eric Glyman said that annualized revenue had reached US$1 billion.

🧠 Food for thought

Implications, context, and why it matters.

Ramp’s valuation rests on more than corporate cards

  • A pre-money valuation above US$40 billion on US$1 billion in annualized revenue works out to about 40x revenue. That sits well above the roughly 13x next-twelve-months revenue multiple cited for software companies ServiceNow and Rubrik 2.
  • The price also comes from Ramp’s move into a broader finance platform that brings together procurement, accounts payable, and other workflows beyond cards and expenses 3.
  • That approach lets Ramp capture more of each customer’s spending while setting it apart from Brex, a corporate card and spend management startup 1.

This funding round could open a new fight in finance software

  • A US$750 million raise would set a fresh mark for private investors and suggest demand has returned for category leaders even in a cautious funding market 4.
  • The cash could add pressure on SAP Concur and newer rivals. It may also spur more mergers and acquisitions (M&A) if smaller finance software firms cannot keep up 3.
  • Ramp’s bundled model goes after the separate product setup used by many banks and software vendors. That could push product teams to speed up integrations to keep large business customers who want one system 5.
