US space infrastructure firm Catalyx Space secures $5.4m funding

Catalyx Space, a space infrastructure company headquartered in San Francisco, has raised US$5.4 million in a seed round led by Outlander VC.

The new funding follows a US$1.7 million pre-seed round in January and will be used to commercialize its next-generation reentry architecture, bolster overseas operations, and expand global customer acquisition.

Catalyx Space was founded in 2024 by Rifath Shaarook and develops technology for orbital missions, including reentry and recovery systems.

Other investors in the round include Arka Venture Labs, Techstars, and several additional venture funds.

The company recently completed its first successful capsule drop test within six months of its pre-seed round.

Catalyx Space serves customers in industries such as defense, advanced manufacturing, and biopharma.
