US software development firm Nuva raises $5.2m seed round
Nuva Digital, the software development company, raised US$5.2 million in a seed round led by Morgan Creek Digital to accelerate development of its tokenized real-world asset platform.
The company was co-created by Animoca Brands and Nuva Labs, and said the funding will support more asset listings, issuer integrations, multichain deployment, and institutional tools.
The platform is a non-custodial marketplace for real-world asset vaults that lets users deposit stablecoins in exchange for on-chain tokens, reflecting broader activity in crypto to move real-world assets onto blockchain networks.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
NUVA is targeting select asset types
- NUVA is a curated marketplace built around “institutional-grade” assets rather than a broad listing site 1.
- Its first products include vaults tied to a regulated financial product and tokenized private credit 1.
- The nvYLDS vault gives access to YLDS, described as the first U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)-registered yielding stablecoin. A planned vault called nvPRIME is meant to offer on-chain PRIME home equity lines of credit (HELOCs) 1.
- Those HELOCs run on the Democratized Prime protocol on Provenance Blockchain, a blockchain network for financial assets. They let users lend against pools of tokenized Figure real-world asset (RWA) loans from Figure, a financial technology company 1.
- NUVA also partnered with AnChain.AI, a company that provides blockchain security and compliance monitoring, to strengthen oversight for its RWA marketplace 1.
The RWA market is moving toward distribution
- NUVA’s funding suggests the real-world asset (RWA) market is growing up, with attention shifting from minting tokenized assets to building places where people can access them 2.
- That change tracks with clearer rules in the U.S. The GENIUS Act created a federal regulatory framework for stablecoin issuers 3.
- In that setting, platforms like NUVA aim to gather these assets in one place. They offer access with no minimums and, by the platform’s positioning, no lockups 2.
- This approach could make traditional assets easier to reuse in decentralized finance (DeFi), which may improve capital efficiency through software-based automation 4.
