SailPoint, a US-based identity security company, said on May 25 that it added an integration with Anthropic’s Claude Compliance API for Claude Enterprise as companies seek tighter oversight of employee AI usage and access control.

The integration is available to SailPoint Identity Security Cloud customers and is designed to help organizations monitors users, AI agents, and automated accounts linked to Claude Enterprise.

Anthropic said the Compliance API gives organization access to activity records, users, roles, and other operational data tied to Claude Enterprise usage, which can support audit and governance processes.

SailPoint said the integration is intended to address “shadow AI” risk as generative AI adoption spread in workplaces.

IBM has previously defined the term as unsanctioned AI use and said employees have shared sensitive work information with AI tools without employer approval.

The focus also aligns with National Institute of Standards and Technology guidance on AI inventories and ongoing monitoring for AI governance.
