US robotic surgery firm Intuitive revenue hits $2.44b in Q2 2025
Intuitive, a developer of robotic surgical systems based in the United States, reported a 21% increase in revenue for the second quarter of 2025.
The total revenue was US$2.44 billion, compared to US$2.01 billion during the same period last year.
This growth was driven by increased procedure volumes and a rise in placements of its da Vinci surgical systems.
The company placed 395 da Vinci systems during the quarter, a rise from 341 placements in Q2 2024. Of these, 180 were da Vinci 5 systems, up significantly from 70 placements in the previous year.
The total installed base of da Vinci systems grew 14% year-on-year, reaching 10,488 systems as of June 30, 2025.
Intuitive’s net income for the quarter was US$658 million under GAAP, an increase from US$527 million in Q2 2024.
The non-GAAP net income was reported at US$798 million, up from US$641 million in the same period last year.
The company concluded the quarter with US$9.53 billion in cash, cash equivalents, and investments, reflecting an increase of US$431 million.
