US fintech Navan’s founders net $25m each in IPO share sale

Navan’s recent IPO generated substantial earnings for its early investors despite a sharp drop in its share price on debut.

Navan, an American company with a large Israeli R&D center and about 3,400 employees worldwide, sold 30 million new shares, raising US$750 million, while existing shareholders sold 6.9 million shares for US$173 million.

Co-founders Ariel Cohen and Ilan Twig each sold shares worth around US$25 million, and senior employees sold about US$15 million.

Oren Zeev, an early investor who operates Zeev Ventures from California, sold 200,000 shares for US$5 million and now holds a 16% stake valued at roughly US$800 million post-IPO.

Other major shareholders include Lightspeed Venture Partners with 21.4%, and Andreessen Horowitz with 11%.

Navan’s market value dropped by 20% on its first trading day.
