US ethereum ETFs hit $1.5b record volume amid Trump tariffs
On Feb. 3, United States spot ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) hit a record US$1.5 billion in trading volume, surpassing the previous high of US$1.22 billion on December 2024.
This surge came amid a broader crypto market downturn.
Ether’s price plunged 36% to US$2.100 on Feb. 3 after President Trump announced new US tariffs.
However, by Feb. 5, ether rebounded 30% to US$2.819 following news of a delay in some tariffs.
Ethereum ETFs saw US$83.6 million in net inflows, the highest since Jan. 16, while US spot bitcoin ETFs faced US$234.4 million in outflows.
