US electric trucking carrier Nevoya raises $9.3m funding
Nevoya, an electric truckload carrier based in San Francisco, has raised US$9.3 million in seed funding.
The funding round was led by Lowercarbon Capital, with participation from Floating Point, LMNT Ventures, and existing investors Third Sphere, Stepchange, and Never Lift.
Several angel investors, including Applied Intuition CEO Qasar Younis, also contributed to the funding.
The funding accelerates Nevoya’s mission to transform logistics through breakthrough efficiency and obsessive customer focus, serving the world’s largest shippers and 3PLs with intelligence-driven operations that deliver measurable competitive advantages.
This seed funding follows a US$3 million pre-seed round in early 2024, with Nevoya’s trucks beginning operations in October of that year.
The company employs nearly 30 drivers who use a “slip-seating” method. This method allows one truck to charge while another is in operation.
Nevoya’s fleet consists of Freightliner eCascadias, with plans to add Tesla Semis and Volvo VNR Electrics soon.
The company’s AI-powered transportation management system identifies optimal routes and charging stations. It focuses operations in California, Texas, and soon Arizona.
Nevoya primarily handles regional hauls of up to 250 miles, serving sectors such as food and beverage, retail, and cosmetics.
