US crypto firm Gemini expands in Australia with new country head

Gemini has expanded its presence in Australia by appointing James Logan as country head and registering with AUSTRAC as a digital currency provider.

The global cryptocurrency platform will now offer exchange services to Australian customers through Gemini Intergalactic Australia Pty Ltd, with local banking integrations that enable AUD transactions.

Logan, who previously worked at Luno and Bitget, will lead Gemini’s strategy and partnerships in the country.

The expansion comes as Australia’s cryptocurrency adoption reaches 22%, according to Gemini’s 2025 report.

Globally, Gemini operates in over 60 countries, reports over US$200 billion in trading volume, and recently secured a MiCA license, launched tokenised stock trading in Europe, and introduced its Bitcoin Credit Card in the US.
