US aviation startup Skyryse secures $300m series C
Skyryse, an aviation automation startup based in El Segundo, California, has raised over US$300 million in a series C funding round, valuing the company at US$1.1 billion.
The round was led by Autopilot Ventures and included investors such as Fidelity Management & Research Company, ArrowMark Partners, and Qatar Investment Authority.
The funding will support the company’s ongoing Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification process for its SkyOS flight control system, which aims to automate complex flight tasks.
Skyryse has integrated SkyOS into Black Hawk helicopters and has received FAA approval for its system’s final design and is now conducting flight testing for full certification.
Skyryse’s system simplifies flying by replacing mechanical controls with automated systems, though pilots remain responsible for operations.
