US AI startup Hark raises $700m at $6b valuation
Hark, an AI lab building models and hardware for a personal assistant, said on May 21 it raised US$700 million in a series A led by Parkway Venture Capital, valuing the company at US$6 billion post-money.
Founder Brett Adcock, who also started Figure AI and Archer, launched Hark in late 2025.
The company said it plans to release multimodal models this summer before introducing hardware built for those systems.
Hark said the funding will go to hiring across hardware, design, and AI research, and to buying compute and components.
Details on the product remain limited beyond investor demos and a workforce of about 70 using Nvidia B200 GPUs in its data center.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Hark’s US$6 billion valuation rests on a build-it-all approach and support from chip investors
- Founder Brett Adcock has built hardware-heavy companies before. They include Figure AI, a humanoid robotics company, and Archer Aviation, an electric aircraft maker 1.
- That background appears to shape Hark’s plan to build AI models, software, and hardware as one stack 2.
- That plan drew Nvidia, Intel Capital, AMD Ventures plus Qualcomm Ventures into the same series A led by Parkway Venture Capital. Those firms are the venture arms of semiconductor and mobile-chip companies 1.
- Taken together, those facts help explain why investors may see Hark as a plausible contender in personal AI hardware before any product launch.
The round captures demand for AI-first devices, though it does not on its own suggest a smartphone slide
- The US$700 million series A suggests investors want companies that pair AI models with hardware built for them, not model makers alone 1.
- Hark is pitching an agentic system, software designed to take actions on a user’s behalf, as a “universal interface” for the digital world 1. Multimodal models are expected this summer. Hardware devices built for those systems would follow 1.
- Nvidia, Intel Capital, AMD Ventures plus Qualcomm Ventures joined the round through their venture arms 1. The available information does not describe that mix as “highly unusual” 1.
- The lineup could be read as a hedge on which AI-hardware platforms win. The available information does not say these investors are betting on a smartphone decline 1.
