US AI search startup Genspark bags $100m, valued at $530m

Genspark, an AI startup based in Palo Alto, has raised US$100 million in its series A funding round, boosting its valuation to US$530 million.

The round was led by investors from the United States and Singapore.

The company, led by CEO Eric Jing, previously secured $60 million in a seed round last June and now has over 2 million monthly active users.

Genspark is among the startups challenging Google’s dominance in search.

Its AI technology focuses on delivering single-answer search results with citations, differing from traditional link-based lists.

The startup’s approach allows multiple AI models to collaborate for comprehensive online research, similar to efforts by OpenAI and You.com.

Meanwhile, Perplexity, another AI search competitor, has reached a US$9 billion valuation.
