US AI coding startup Cognition nets $400m at $10.2b valuation
Cognition has raised over US$400 million in new funding at a US$10.2 billion post-money valuation.
The round was led by Founders Fund with participation from Lux Capital, 8VC, Neo, Elad Gil, Definition Capital, and Swish VC.
New investors included Bain Capital Ventures, Hanabi Capital, and D1 Capital.
Founded in 2024, the US-based AI software company is known for Devin, an AI agent for software engineering tasks.
Cognition recently acquired Windsurf, which more than doubled its annual recurring revenue and helped boost enterprise ARR by over 30% in seven weeks.
Clients include Goldman Sachs, Citi, Dell, Cisco, Ramp, Palantir, Nubank, and Mercado Libre.
