US AI chipmaker Groq secures $750m at $6.9b valuation

Groq has raised US$750 million in new funding, bringing its valuation to US$6.9 billion.

The round was led by US investment firm Disruptive and included investors such as BlackRock, Neuberger Berman, Deutsche Telekom Capital Partners, Samsung, Cisco, D1, Altimeter, 1789 Capital, and Infinitum.

Groq, based in the US, builds inference infrastructure for AI, including its LPU and GroqCloud products.

Disruptive has invested nearly US$350 million in Groq to date, though this is not all from the latest round.

Groq operates data centers in North America, Europe, and the Middle East, and says it serves developers and large enterprises globally.
