The US Department of War has launched GenAI.mil, a new platform hosting advanced AI tools, with Google Cloud’s Gemini for Government as its first offering.

The initiative aims to provide generative AI capabilities to military and civilian personnel across US defense installations.

GenAI.mil is part of a broader push for AI integration after a July 2025 mandate by President Donald Trump for advancements in military technology.

The platform’s tools, including Gemini for Government, are certified for use with Controlled Unclassified Information and meet Impact Level 5 security standards.

The Department is offering free training to its employees to support adoption of the new AI tools.
