US charging networks added around 11,300 ultra-fast EV chargers in 2025, up 48% from the previous year, according to Paren.

Nearly two-thirds of the 18,000 new public chargers support speeds of 150 kW or more, with about 25% exceeding 250 kW, which can add around 100 miles of range in under 10 minutes.

The expansion targets shorter charging times, a key factor in EV adoption.

EVgo, one of America’s largest charging networks, reported lower utilization in recent quarters, partly because higher-power chargers deliver more electricity per session.

Automakers are also rolling out models that support 300 kW or higher, reinforcing the push for faster charging and wider EV adoption.
