Unitree wins Shanghai IPO approval, eyes $619m
Hangzhou-based Unitree Robotics, a Chinese maker of quadruped and humanoid robots, has won registration approval from the China Securities Regulatory Commission for a Shanghai IPO and could debut in late July.
The approval came about a month after the company cleared the Shanghai Stock Exchange listing committee’s review.
Unitree plans to raise about 4.2 billion yuan (US$619 million) by selling at least 40.4 million shares, equal to at least a 10% stake and implying an initial valuation of about 42 billion yuan (US$6.19 billion).
Under China’s registration-based IPO system, stock exchange review and China Securities Regulatory Commission registration are the final steps in a process expected to take six to nine months overall.
Unitree has shipped more than 30,000 quadruped and 4,000 humanoid robots since 2022.
Its prospectus shows 2025 revenue of 1.7 billion yuan (US$250 million) and adjusted profit of about 591 million yuan (US$87.1 million).
Standard net profit was 288 million yuan (US$42.4 million) after a one-off share-based compensation charge.
The planned valuation would place Unitree near Hong Kong-listed UBTech Robotics, a Chinese robotics company.
UBTech reported 2 billion yuan (US$295 million) in revenue last year, a net loss of roughly 700 million yuan (US$103 million), and a market capitalisation of about HK$52.8 billion (US$6.72 billion) as of July 3.
