Unitree eyes over $7.4b valuation in Shanghai IPO
Hangzhou-based Unitree Technology, a Chinese robot maker, is expected to be valued at more than 50 billion yuan (US$7.4 billion) after its planned Shanghai initial public offering, according to sponsor Citic Securities.
The company plans to raise 4.2 billion yuan (US$622 million) to fund innovation and expand production.
Unitree sells quadruped robots for consumer and industrial use, as well as humanoid robots including the H1 and G1. Its customers include utilities, energy companies, research institutions, and universities.
The company reported 1.7 billion yuan (US$252 million) in 2025 revenue.
In the first quarter of 2026, revenue rose 68.49% year on year, while net profit excluding non-recurring items fell 52.55% to about 40.3 million yuan (US$5.96 million) as research and development and sales costs increased.
Shareholders include Meituan affiliates, HSG (formerly Sequoia China), and Matrix Partners China. Unitree’s June 2025 funding round implied a 12.7 billion yuan (US$1.88 billion) post-money valuation.
The IPO would value Unitree above listed peer UBTech, whose market capitalization was about US$5.61 billion.
It also comes as the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) added foreign-produced advanced robotic devices to its Covered List, restricting new equipment authorizations for many radio frequency-emitting robots unless they qualify for exceptions.
