United Airlines announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has approved its first aircraft type equipped with Starlink technology.

The Embraer 175 is the first model to receive a Supplemental Type Certificate, with the initial deployment on a United Express Embraer 175 in May.

The airline plans to install Starlink on about 40 regional jets each month, aiming to equip all 300 Embraer 175 planes by year-end.

United is also working with Starlink to secure FAA approval for over 16 other aircraft models.
