Union minister Goyal launches AI training center in Mumbai
Union Commerce Minister and North Mumbai MP Piyush Goyal inaugurated an AI training and placement center with Apna, an Indian jobs platform, at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Skill Development Centre in North Mumbai.
He also launched a beauty and wellness training center backed by L’Oréal India and a mid-day meal initiative supported by Malabar Group.
Goyal said the Apna facility will use AI to assess job seekers’ skill gaps, prepare candidates for interviews, identify career pathways, and connect them with employment opportunities.
The venue is part of a skill development ecosystem involving the Confederation of Indian Industry and other industry partners.
Goyal said six such centers are being set up in North Mumbai, along with work on a proposed AI Innovation Hub.
The L’Oréal program adds training in a sector with recognized standards under India’s national skilling framework.
