UK-based startup Plain has raised US$15 million in a series A round led by Battery Ventures, with participation from Index Ventures and Connect Ventures.

The funds will help Plain expand, including opening its first US office in San Francisco.

Founded by former Deliveroo employees Simon Rohrbach and Matt Vagni, Plain offers an API-based platform that consolidates customer support channels like Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, email, and chat into one interface.

Its customers include Sanity, Laravel, Stytch, and Raycast.

The customer support sector is growing, with new players like US-based Pylon and Thena.

Pylon raised US$17 million in 2024, while Thena secured over US$7 million, both focusing on optimizing support platforms.
