UK, Saudi firms open first humanoid robotics showroom in Riyadh
Humanoid, a UK-based AI and robotics firm, and QSS AI & Robotics have opened the Middle East’s first dedicated humanoid robotics showroom in Riyadh.
The Humanoid Lounge features demonstrations and workshops on humanoid robots, including the HMND 01 Alpha Wheeled robot built by Humanoid.
QSS, based in Saudi Arabia, will assemble robots locally and serve as Humanoid’s exclusive partner in the country.
The companies have set up a pre-order framework for up to 10,000 humanoid units over five years.
Saudi Arabia is expanding its industrial robotics sector as part of Vision 2030.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Non-binding pre-order framework with no committed purchase order
- The partnership announcement calls it a non-binding pre-order framework for up to 10,000 units over five years 1. There is no contract, so orders could come in lower or never arrive.
- Disclosures omit anchor buyers and pricing. Delivery windows and payment terms are absent too.
- QSS plans local assembly at its Riyadh Robotics Factory in the capital 1. The releases do not cover regulatory certifications, capacity, or a supply chain to produce industrial-grade humanoids at scale.
- China’s UBTECH has over 500 intent orders from electric vehicle makers 2. Partnerships include Audi FAW (Audi’s joint venture with China’s FAW Group) plus BYD, Geely Auto, and Foxconn. That gives a clearer example of commercial traction than a non-binding framework.
Third-party integrators and software vendors can pursue Saudi government procurement under Vision 2030
- The national procurement portal lets vendors browse tenders and uses AI to match bids with commercial records 34. That gives robotics integrators a direct route to find deployments.
- Vision 2030 calls for robotics across manufacturing and logistics 5. Energy, retail, and public infrastructure sit on the list too. That opens work for local partners, maintenance crews, and system integrators beyond hardware sales.
- The industrial robotics market in Saudi Arabia could rise from $178.2 million to $543.7 million by 2033 at an 11.8% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) 5. Financing and leasing firms can earn from Robotics-as-a-Service models, which give subscription-based access to robots without large upfront spend.
