UK firm Cera raises $150m for AI healthcare expansion

Cera, a UK-based in-home healthcare provider, has raised US$150 million in debt and equity funding, with the majority being debt-based. The round was led by BDT & MSD Partners and Schroders Capital.

The company plans to use the funds to expand its AI-driven healthcare platform, which integrates proprietary data models and AI tools like Google’s Gemini AI and Microsoft’s ChatGPT.

Cera’s platform helps carers log patient conditions and predict health risks, claiming reductions in hospital admissions by 70% and patient falls by 20%, though these figures are not independently verified.

It has raised over US$407 million and provides to care around 30 million people in the UK, supported by a team of 10,000 carers and nurses.
