Officials in the United Kingdom have confirmed that there are currently no plans to ban TikTok within the country.

This announcement comes as the United States implements a ban on the app due to national security concerns, effective Jan. 19.

A UK government representative said that the matter is primarily for US authorities and reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to data security.

They added that the government works with social media firms to ensure data protection and cybersecurity standards.

Although no UK ban is imminent, some content creators are concerned about the implications of a US ban.
