UBTech, a Shenzhen-based robotics company, unveiled a 10-year “human-machine symbiosis” strategy on June 30 and launched the You World U1 humanoid robot series for consumer and commercial use.

Prices start at 119,800 yuan (US$18,000) for the half-body U1 Lite, 169,800 yuan (US$25,000) for the full-body U1 Pro, and 880,000 yuan (US$130,000) to 990,000 yuan (US$146,000) for the U1 Ultra.

The company said cumulative orders across online and offline channels had exceeded 13,361 units and that it was working to deliver them this year.

UBTech said the robots are meant for companionship, reception, elderly care, research, and teaching.

The company did not say whether that total refers to firm orders, deposits, or broader channel commitments.

In an earlier consumer humanoid presale, reservations required deposits of 3,000 yuan (US$440).

The launch extends UBTech’s existing humanoid robot roadmap rather than marking its first move into the category, as the company had previously positioned its Walker robot for household and office use.

It also comes as China has released its first national standard system for humanoid robotics, covering applications, safety, and ethics in areas including household services, healthcare, and senior care.
