Ubisoft sales fall 3.9% to $364m in Q1 2025

Ubisoft, a global video game publisher, reported a 3.9% decline in sales for the first quarter of its 2025-26 financial year, totaling €311 million (US$364 million).

The decline was partly due to technical issues with its shooter game, “Rainbow Six Siege.”

Despite the mixed results, Ubisoft noted the success of “Assassin’s Creed Shadows,” which has attracted over five million unique players since launch.

The company also experienced a smaller decline of 2.9% in net bookings, which excludes deferred revenues.

Ubisoft anticipates net bookings of around €450 million (US$489 million) in the second quarter, driven by new partnerships and revenue from television ventures.

For the full financial year, Ubisoft aims for stable net bookings year-on-year and expects to achieve an “approximately break-even” operating profit.

The company reported a net loss of €159 million (US$185.9 million) in the previous financial year and is currently implementing a cost-cutting initiative that includes studio closures and over 2,000 job cuts.

Ubisoft is restructuring its operations into autonomous units to foster a more agile organization.

While specifics about this reorganization have not been disclosed, the company plans to provide further details by October.
