Uber-backed Lime raises $167m in IPO

Lime, a San Francisco-based e-bike and scooter rental company backed by Uber, raised US$167 million in its US initial public offering on June 30 after selling 6.68 million shares at US$25 each, the midpoint of its range.

The company is expected to list on Nasdaq on July 1 under the ticker “LIME”. Earlier filings targeted a valuation of up to US$1.66 billion.

Lime operates in more than 230 cities and reported 2025 revenue of US$886.7 million, up from US$686.6 million a year earlier.

Its net loss widened to US$59.3 million from US$33.9 million.

The offering comes as the US IPO market regains momentum.

Twenty-two traditional IPOs raised more than US$9.4 billion in the first quarter of 2026, according to PwC.

Uber remained Lime’s largest shareholder before the IPO, with a 24% stake, and had indicated interest in buying up to US$20 million of shares in the offering.

Trips booked through Uber’s app contributed about 14% of Lime’s 2025 revenue.

Lime warned that its seasonal, asset-heavy business faces city-level permit and broader regulatory risks.
