Uber, WeRide expand robotaxi rollout to 15 cities

Uber and Chinese autonomous vehicle company, WeRide, will expand their robotaxi partnership to 15 additional cities over the next five years.

The expansion will include locations in Europe as well as cities outside of China and the United States.

Under this partnership, WeRide’s robotaxi services will be integrated into the Uber app.

Uber will manage network routing and fleet operations, while WeRide will handle the autonomous vehicle technology.

The partnership already operates in Abu Dhabi and will soon launch in Dubai, working with local operator Tawasul Transport.

Uber has built over 15 alliances with autonomous tech firms, including Waymo and Momenta, across various mobility services.
