Uber to deploy 100,000 autonomous cars with Nvidia tech by 2027
Nvidia has announced a partnership with Uber to support the global expansion of level 4 autonomous vehicles using its Drive AGX Hyperion 10 platform.
Uber plans to begin scaling its autonomous fleet in 2027, targeting up to 100,000 vehicles powered by Nvidia technology.
Stellantis, Lucid, and Mercedes-Benz are also developing level 4-ready vehicles compatible with Nvidia’s platform.
Nvidia has launched the Halos Certified Program to evaluate and certify safety standards for autonomous vehicles and robotics.
The company also released a multimodal dataset containing 1,700 hours of data from 25 countries to support autonomous driving model development.
Other companies in Nvidia’s level 4 ecosystem include Aurora, Volvo Autonomous Solutions, Waabi, Avride, May Mobility, Momenta, Nuro, Pony.ai, Wayve, and WeRide.

- California lists over 60 AV testing companies in 2024 1. Charging firms should build ties with fleet operators there and pitch OCPP-compliant, hardware-plus-software charging solutions (an interoperability standard that lets chargers work with networks) 5.
- Electric grid services providers (companies that manage demand response and load balancing) can win work through managed charging needs. RFPs should ask for 24/7 monitoring, local controllers for resilience, plus integration with fleet scheduling so vehicles charge by departure time 5.
