Uber, Nvidia partner with Israel’s Autobrains on robotaxis

Uber, Nvidia, and Autobrains, an Israeli autonomous driving startup with operations in Tel Aviv and Munich, are partnering to launch an autonomous taxi service in Munich.

The service is expected to integrate with Uber’s platform and use Nvidia’s DRIVE Hyperion Level 4 autonomous driving platform and Autobrains’ technology.

The companies said the system would work across multiple vehicle brands rather than rely on a dedicated robotaxi platform. They chose Munich for its mix of dense urban streets, highways, and an established regulatory framework for autonomous mobility.

Founded in 2019 as a spin-off from Cortica Group, Autobrains has raised about US$140 million from investors including Temasek, BMW i Ventures, Toyota Ventures, Continental, Knorr-Bremse, and VinFast.
