Uber ends shuttle bus services in Indian cities over low demand

Uber has stopped its shuttle bus services in Mumbai and Hyderabad due to low ridership and increasing operational costs.

The decision is expected to affect between 250 and 300 buses in Mumbai and about 150 to 200 buses in Hyderabad.

The shuttle service was introduced earlier this year as a pre-booked, fixed-route alternative to public transport.

Despite the discontinuation in these cities, Uber will continue the service in Delhi and Kolkata.

As of December 2024, the company was operating about 300 routes in the Delhi-NCR region.
