Uber has acquired Segments.ai, a Belgian startup focused on data labeling for autonomous vehicles, as part of its push into the AI training sector.

Segments.ai, founded by Bert De Brabandere and Otto Debals and backed by Y Combinator, specializes in labeling data from cameras and sensors used in technologies such as self-driving cars and drones.

Both founders and the Segments.ai team will join Uber’s data-labeling unit, Uber AI Solutions.

Uber did not disclose the financial terms of the deal.
