K2 and WeRide have signed a memorandum of understanding to operate autonomous buses in Abu Dhabi, with plans to collaborate under the guidance of the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council and the Integrated Transport Centre in 2026.

The partnership aims to support Abu Dhabi’s goal of advancing smart mobility through the deployment of autonomous public transport solutions.

K2, a local mobility solutions provider, will leverage its experience in fleet management and real-world mobility deployments, while WeRide will contribute its autonomous vehicle technology and deployment expertise.

WeRide currently operates driverless robotaxi services in Abu Dhabi, and this partnership is expected to develop and commercialize autonomous buses in the emirate.
