UAE wealth fund leads $30m round for Dubai restaurant payments firm

Qlub, a restaurant payments platform based in Dubai, has raised US$30 million in a funding round that included UAE sovereign wealth fund, Mubadala Investment Company.

This investment increases the startup’s total funding to US$72 million since its establishment in 2021.

The funding round was co-led by Shorooq Partners and Cherry Ventures, a firm based in Germany.

Additional participants included UAE telecom company e& and China’s Legend Capital, although the company did not disclose its valuation.

The platform enables diners to browse menus, place orders, and make payments using their smartphones.

The new funding will be allocated to market expansion, strengthening its presence in current regions, and enhancing its platform with advanced analytics, according to Qlub.
