UAE to allocate spectrum for 6G development

The United Arab Emirates plans to allocate 600MHz and 6GHz frequency bands to advance 6G technology, according to its Telecommunications and Digital Regulatory Authority (TDRA).

This allocation could lead to the initiation of 6G services between 2025 and 2026.

TDRA officials say these bands will support mobile telecommunications systems and gradually enable consumer access to 6G features.

Sixth-generation technology offers faster data speeds reaching the terabit level, latency below one millisecond, and enhanced AI-driven networking, according to TDRA’s director general Majed Al Mesmar.
