UAE-based Pure Harvest Smart Farms and Korea-based PlanTFarm have launched a redeveloped high-tech farming facility in Al Ain, UAE.

The site utilizes advanced AI-powered technologies for controlled environment agriculture (CEA).

The site includes a pilot project for growing animal fodder with 95% less water, aiming to reduce the Gulf’s reliance on imports.

The farm also uses hybrid technology to grow local crops like Korean strawberries and leafy greens year-round.

The partnership, announced in December 2023, combines vertical farming and greenhouses to enhance food security with minimal resources.

The aim is to address food security challenges in the UAE while minimizing resource consumption.
