UAE healthtech firm extends pre-series A funding to $7m

BioSapien, a United Arab Emirates-based healthtech firm, has extended its pre-series A funding round to US$7 million.

New investors, including Golden Gate Ventures, have contributed from its MENA Fund.

The company, founded in 2018 by Khatija Ali, raised US$5.5 million in December with support from Global Ventures and Dara Holdings.

The new funds will facilitate clinical trials for BioSapien’s 3D-printed drug delivery platform, which is scheduled to begin in Abu Dhabi in the second quarter of 2025.

BioSapien intends to use the funds to advance its goal of treating over one million patients globally by 2035.
