Twitch, the Amazon-backed livestreaming platform, is set to let go of around 500 employees, which translates to about 35% of its workforce. The layoffs are reportedly due to financial concerns and key executive exits.

Despite an increased focus on advertising, Twitch remains unprofitable nine years after it was acquired by Amazon.
