TurtleTree aims profitable lactoferrin production, $500m revenue in 4 years
Singapore-based biotech firm TurtleTree is set to disrupt the alternative protein industry – traditionally dominated by chicken and whey protein – by producing lactoferrin, a nutrient found in milk.
TurtleTree’s product has secured self-affirmed GRAS (generally recognized as safe) determination, and the startup has planned for a US launch in 2024.
Due to its high value, TurtleTree’s lactoferrin, which benefits gut health, immunity, and iron binding, will allow the company to reach gross profit once it hits commercial production. TurtleTree aims to earn US$500 million in revenue for the next four years.
