Tumblr has announced financial support for Tapestry, an app by The Iconfactory that consolidates feeds from platforms like RSS, Mastodon, and Bluesky.

Launched in February 2025 after raising over US$177,000 through crowdfunding, Tapestry will use Tumblr’s funding to develop a native macOS version.

The financial backing, reportedly in the six-figure range, also supports a new sponsorship program connecting indie advertisers with Tapestry’s users.

Competing with apps like Surf, Feeeed, and Reeder, Tapestry aims to enhance customization and user control over content.

Since Automattic acquired Tumblr in 2019, the platform has integrated with the fediverse, reinforcing its role in the open social web.
