TSMC posts record October sales on AI demand

TSMC reported record monthly sales in October, generating NT$367.5 billion (US$11.9 billion), according to company data.

The Taiwan-based chipmaker saw sales rise 16.9% year-on-year and 11% from September, surpassing its previous monthly high of NT$349.6 billion (US$10.8 billion) set in April.

From January to October, consolidated sales reached NT$3.1 trillion (US$96 billion), up 33.8% year-on-year.

Analysts cited the growth to strong demand for AI applications, reflecting TSMC’s earlier forecast of robust AI demand and a mild recovery in non-AI markets.

For Q4, TSMC projected revenue between US$32.2 billion and US$33.4 billion, with analysts expecting AI demand to largely offset the usual seasonal slowdown.
