Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) and the University of Tokyo (UTokyo) have established the TSMC-UTokyo Lab to advance semiconductor research, education, and talent development.

This lab, located on UTokyo’s Hongo campus, marks TSMC’s first partnership with a university outside Taiwan.

The lab will focus on research in areas such as materials, devices, processes, metrology, packaging, and circuit design.

Research findings will contribute to TSMC’s research and development efforts.

The lab will be managed by UTokyo faculty with oversight from directors of both institutions.
