Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) retained its dominance in the global pure-play foundry market, capturing a 64% share in Q3 2024. This is an increase from the 62% share it held in the previous quarter, according to Counterpoint Research.

Growth was driven by robust demand for its advanced 5nm and 3nm processes, fueled by AI accelerators and strong smartphone sales.

TSMC plans to begin commercial 2nm production this year, offering 10-15% performance gains and improved energy efficiency.
