TSMC to build supply chain in Arizona to cut costs
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) is developing a supply chain in Arizona to lower operating costs to levels seen in Taiwan.
The company is investing US$65 billion in three advanced wafer fabrication facilities in the state.
At an investor conference, TSMC chairman C.C. Wei noted the absence of a complete supply chain in Arizona requires transporting materials from Taiwan.
This situation increases expenses. He emphasized the need for United States government support to build this supply chain.
