Trust Bank expands TrustInvest with UK ETFs
Trust Bank, a Singapore-based digital bank, said on July 14 that it had expanded TrustInvest to include UK Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS) exchange-traded funds (ETFs) listed on the London Stock Exchange.
The move allows customers in Singapore to invest in Ireland-domiciled funds with a minimum investment of US$10.
The funds are available through fractional trades and recurring purchases via AutoInvest, adding to TrustInvest’s existing mutual funds and US stocks and ETFs.
Trust Bank said more than 30,000 customers have opened trading accounts with the platform since launch.
For UCITS funds with US equity exposure, Ireland-domiciled structures typically face 15% withholding tax on US dividends at the fund level, versus 30% for comparable US-domiciled ETFs.
They can also avoid US estate tax exposure that may apply to non-US investors above the US$60,000 threshold.
Another Singapore platform already offers eligible London Stock Exchange fractional UCITS ETF access from 1 pound (US$1.3), compared with Trust’s US$10 minimum.
Trust said trades in its UK UCITS ETFs have zero custody, platform, and settlement fees, plus a 0.05% commission with a US$4 minimum.
