Trump to review final TikTok proposal on Apr. 2
President Donald Trump is set to review a final proposal on TikTok on Apr. 2, which includes potential investors like Blackstone and Oracle, along with other major private equity and venture capital firms.
A meeting will take place in the Oval Office with Vice President JD Vance, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.
It is unclear whether Trump will approve the strategy.
TikTok’s Chinese parent company, ByteDance, faces a deadline of Apr. 5 to divest its stake in the app to avoid a possible US ban.
This follows an extension of a deadline from Jan. 19, by an executive order signed by Trump, allowing 75 more days to finalize a deal.
Recently, Trump mentioned the strong interest in TikTok, stating, “We have a lot of potential buyers.”
